Auto-Searcher Update

Hello everyone! I wanted to give you all another update on the new version of the auto-searcher. Firstly, we’re going to provide it as an ad-supported service.  This means you’ll be able to use it for 100% free!  You’ll just be asked to spend a minute or two taking a survey up to a few times a week. Here  is the progress I’ve made since the last update:
  1. Implemented login and profile system.  This means you’ll be able to save all of your settings to your account.
  2. Implemented e-mail/text message notifications for win/CAPTCHA events.  You’ll be able to select what kinds of notifications you want for different events.
    Notification settings
This demonstrates how you'll easily be able to select what kinds of notifications you want.
  3. Saving / Loading of settings profiles.  After you configure your searcher, you’ll be able to save its state, and load it again next time you use it.  The following series of screenshots demonstrates how this works
    non-standard configuration
This is a non-default configuration for the searcher

    Loading configuration
Next time you visit searcher, you can load the saved configuration
I have a few things left to do before it’s ready for release.  Ideally, it’ll be available to everyone within a few weeks.  Please do let us know if you have any comments, suggestions, or questions. Coming up next is tracking of wins, searches, and display of statistics based on those observations! Thanks, everyone! — gc

Update on Auto-Searcher Premium

Hi guys, Last time I told you about auto-searcher premium, I listed some of the capabilities that we’d like it to have.  I’ve made some progress, and wanted to give a short update.  A few screenshots of it in action follow:
CAPTCHA alert
In this example, the auto-searcher won swagbucks, and was able to auto-detect the presence of a CAPTCHA.

Multiple wins
This example shows a longer history of winnings. You can see that we won 31 swagbucks total, and that a 22 swagbucks win is shown above.
These are very basic features compared to what we have planned for the future. Soon, we’ll have a wider variety of notification options (get an e-mail/text when you need to enter a CAPTCHA, view all of your winnings over time, etc).  At this time, the service is supported with a Google Chrome plugin.  If there is enough demand, we might provide a FireFox plugin as well. Because this is a rather significant undertaking, we’re unable to develop this product for free.  However, we are considering the option of having it be ad-supported.  We may have an option to complete a survey or watch an ad every few days before you’re sent onto the auto-searcher (you will be left uninterrupted for a while after that), and we’d still provide the option of paying a small amount to get rid of the ads permanently. Again, the current version of the auto-searcher will remain freely available to you! Given all this, we’d again appreciate your feedback.  If you have a few seconds, answer the poll below. E-mail notifications!

Hey guys! We’re working to maximize your chances of getting every SwagCode.  You’ve seen (and are hopefully using!) the SwagCode Checker, our automatically updated Twitter account (which provides text message notifications), and our RSS feed.  We now offer automatic e-mail notifications when a new Swag Code comes out. To set up e-mail notifications, follow these steps.
  1. Go to the e-mail notifications page.  You should see something that looks like the following.
    Email notifications form
    Email notifications form
  2. Type in your e-mail address and press “Submit”.  You should receive a confirmation e-mail within ten minutes.  If you don’t get it, check your spam folder.  If it still doesn’t work, try again and contact us.
  3. After you confirm your subscription by clicking on the link in the e-mail, you’ll be able to select when you want notification e-mails.  If you just want to be notified when we post a new SwagCode, make sure that’s the only thing selected and press “Submit”.
    Selecting notification categories
    Selecting notification categories
That’s it!  You should now receive notification e-mails when we post new Swag Codes!  If you run into any problems, please let us know.

Auto-Searcher Premium

The auto-searcher has been a big hit! We’re overjoyed to see that you’re all making good use of it. While the current auto-searcher will remain freely available to you, we’re planning on developing a “premium” version that has even more capability!  This would be an affordable paid service.  Ideally, it will pay for itself in SwagBucks prizes in the long run!  Follows is a list of capabilities:
  1. More customizable settings: modify the amount of time between searches, select the dictionaries you’d like to use for searches, notification sounds, etc.
  2. Notifications (sound, e-mail, etc.) when something noteworthy happens (you win SwagBucks, you’re prompted to enter a CAPTCHA, etc).  The times you’re notified will be customizable.
  3. Per-user win reports and history.
  4. Notifications and an option to auto-enter a SwagCode when a new one comes out.
Of course we’re willing to entertain other ideas. Given this, we have a few questions for you:
  1. Would you purchase this service?
  2. Because of existing security precautions that all modern browsers implement, it is impossible for these features to exist without the assistance of a browser plugin.  Would you be willing to install a browser plugin?
  3. If so, would you also be willing to install Google Chrome?
If you have a free minute, please fill out the following survey to help us out. [polldaddy survey=”93DE14FE8BC06E97″ link_text=”Click here to take the survey”]
Thanks guys! — gc
Also: We will have MANY more features to go along with the premium service, not just the premium auto searcher, and auto code enterer. These are just a few of the features we will have available to you.
